Composed primarily of the correspondence, manuscripts, business papers, newsclippings, and photos relating to the life and profession of James Schell Hearst. Also includes some business correspondence of his father, Charles E. Hearst who was president of the Iowa Farm Bureau from 1923-1936 as well as some clippings from his brother, Charles J. Hearst, about an agicultural exchange mission to the Soviet Union in 1955.
